St. Croix Bluffs Campground is one of two regional campgrounds in Washington County. It offers modern campsites with spacious sites, some of them with electric hookups.

About St. Croix Bluffs Campground

St. Croix Bluffs Campground offers 73 campsites with some pull-through, some back-in and most with electricity. While all are spacious, there’s a range of privacy—with some out in the open, as you see in the photo above, and others backup up to woods.

There are also two group sites that can accommodate 20 and 30 people.

The campground also offers flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station and playground. The campground isn’t on the St. Croix River, but there’s river access either via the hiking trails or with your vehicle down to the boat launch.

An important note: Pets aren’t allowed here! Plan to leave your dog(s) at home or in a kennel. Alchohol isn’t allowed either, and quiet hours start at 10:00pm.

Camping rates start at $23 a night (2020 prices), with extra fees for reservations, gate cards (if you go in or out outside of normal hours), etc. See all rates here (scroll to the bottom and click on “Camping Rates”).

Click here for online reservations. You’re always free to just pull in and check for available sites, but you’ll be taking your chances, especially on the weekends.

The campground is open from late April to mid-October.

Other Activities at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park

With 3,800 feet of shoreline on the St. Croix River, this park is great for paddlers. There’s a boat launch in the park with river access and a parking lot a short drive from the campground. Bring your canoe, kayak or stand-up board and get out on the beautiful St. Croix.

There are almost 10 miles of hiking trails in the park, with a wide variety of terrain—both hilly and flat. Most of these trails are dirt (with some mud if it’s been raining!)

There’s direct access to the hiking trails from the campground. A nice overlook of the River.

There’s a paved trail suitable for biking, especially for families with younger children, as it’s not long.
